J&J’s Wedding Photography…A Client Perspective

Back in November, I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life. The day was truly unforgettable, even though it flew by in the blink of an eye. I know that my wife felt the same way, and almost all of our married friends echoed the same sentiment about their wedding day experience. “It was great! But what happened?! It went by so quickly!” Needless to say, it’s become even more obvious to me why it’s so important to have an excellent wedding photographer – it’s so great to be able to look back the pictures and feel like they really captured the essence of the celebration.

As a past client of J&J Photography – I had my social media headshots done by Jared in Spring 2011 – I was really excited to have J&J shoot my wedding. That shoot, and our meeting with Jared during the vendor selection process, made it abundantly clear that he was a great fit for us. He was flexible to our requests (he travelled to Boston for the wedding!) and we really liked that he was a photojournalistic wedding photographer. With so much on our minds, many important last minute things to do, and too many people to see, we didn’t want to spend a large portion of the day posing for pictures. And as Jared assured us, the portraits were a piece of cake. We decided to take them before our ceremony and they probably took a grand total of 20-30 minutes – family/wedding party included. From that point on we didn’t have to spend a single moment “worrying” about pictures – making it easy to focus intently on the ceremony and reception.

The remainder of the day was a big, happy blur. The nerves from before (and during) the ceremony gave way to euphoria…and lots of food, drink, and dancing. We got so caught up in the excitement of sharing this special moment with our friends and family that it was really hard to stop and soak it all in. Thankfully, we had J&J on the premises! Jared managed to photograph every element of the wedding, without being the slightest bit intrusive. He was a consummate professional which he demonstrated once again by producing a ton of memorable images for us to enjoy shortly after the wedding.

As we looked through our wedding pictures we found ourselves commenting on how well he captured everyone’s personality, how the spirit of both the ceremony and reception shone through, and how so many important but often-overlooked nuances were preserved.  Like any other once-in-a-lifetime event, you want to be able to look back and relive the joyful memories – J&J Photography has made that possible and we are so thankful for that!
